Bluesky Video Upload Error

Bluesky Video Upload Error

We are currently aware of an issue affecting users' ability to upload videos to the Bluesky platform through the Tophhie Social PDS server.

Users attempting to upload videos to Bluesky may be greeted with the following error message.

Initial Root Cause Analysis
We've identified an issue within the code on the Bluesky website that retrieves the PDS's did:web: identifier from the user entered hostname when initially logging into Bluesky. Most of our users log in with the custom server "tophhie.social", however the server itself is registered as "pds.tophhie.cloud". Because of this, Bluesky builds the wrong "audience" did:web in a token that is sent to the service.

Workaround
Users are able to work around this issue by following the below steps...
  1. Log out of Bluesky.
  2. Log back into Bluesky.
    1. However, when you log in, change the custom server to "pds.tophhie.cloud" instead of "tophhie.social".

Updates
The issue has been reported to Bluesky on their GitHub PDS server repository. You can follow along here...
