Siri Shortcuts & App Intents

Siri Shortcuts & App Intents

Starting with Marvelist version 1.31.1, Siri Shortcuts have been improved and moved onto Apple's latest Siri integration technology, App Intents.

You can now interact with your Marvelist data in more ways than you could before, but there's more to come.

To start with, we're introducing the following Shortcuts:
  1. Create a new task
  2. Add an item to your shopping list
  3. Fetch tasks due today
  4. Fetch your Marvelist notifications
  5. Create a new list

These five shortcuts will allow you to interact with your Marvelist data using Siri and the Shortcuts app.
The five shortcuts should be self-explanatory on what they do, and you should be able to start using them straight away without any configuration!
We've included certain 'phrases' that will help Siri understand you want to perform these actions. These phrases are:
  1. Create a new task
    1. Create a new task in Marvelist
    2. Create a new note in Marvelist
    3. Add a Marvelist task
    4. Add a Marvelist note
  2. Add an item to your shopping list
    1. Add an item to my shopping list in Marvelist
    2. Update my shopping list in Marvelist
    3. Add something to my Marvelist shopping list
    4. Update my Marvelist shopping list
  3. Fetch tasks due today
    1. What tasks are due today in Marvelist?
    2. What do I have due today in Marvelist?
    3. Fetch me any tasks due today in Marvelist?
    4. Fetch your Marvelist notifications
  4. Fetch me the latest updates from Marvelist
    1. What's the latest in Marvelist?
    2. Get me my notifications from Marvelist
    3. Fetch me my notifications from Marvelist
    4. What's going on in Marvelist?
  5. Create a new list
    1. Create a new list in Marvelist
    2. Create a new to do list in Marvelist
    3. Create a new notes list in Marvelist
    4. Create a Marvelist list
    5. Create a new Marvelist
You can also create your own phrases by creating a new shortcut in the Shortcuts app, naming it whatever you want to say to start the action, and adding the Marvelist action to the shortcut.

It's worth noting... Siri isn't perfect and can sometimes get things wrong straight out the box. Therefore, it may take a while for Siri to learn that you want to perform an action in Marvelist, and Siri may tell you that action can't be completed. If this happens, create your own shortcut!

As always, if you need any assistance with the Siri integration, or anything at all in Marvelist, you can reach us at help@marvelist.co.uk.
